With two new property tax measures on the upcoming election ballot for November 3, Jeffrey Olson, Chief Deputy Assessor with the San Diego County Tax Assessor’s Office will walk us through the two ballot measures and how these measures could drastically change property taxes as we know it, and he’ll give us an overview of current property tax assessment issues in his office as they relate to real estate transfers involved in estate planning and administration.
Estate Attorney John Reynard will cover real estate transfer traps and pitfalls for the unwary related to estate planning and transfers of real estate to and from joint tenancies, revocable and irrevocable trusts, sub-trust funding, corporations, limited partnerships and LLCs, and key points about post death trust administration to beneficiaries. You won’t want to miss this combination of speakers.

San Diego County Chief Deputy Assessor
Jeff Olson is San Diego County’s Chief Deputy Assessor, responsible for the overall operations of the Assessor’s office and the County’s $605 Billion assessment roll. Jeff is an expert in property tax law, having spent the last 31 years working in the Assessor’s office. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and an Advanced Appraiser Certificate from the California State Board of Equalization. At this meeting Jeff will be discussing property tax law as it applies to estate planning, programs that can save your clients property tax dollars, and two November 3rd ballot measures that could drastically change these programs going forward.
John Reynard
Partner | Driscol; Amderson Reynard LLP
John is a partner with Driscoll Anderson Reynard LLP and brings an extensive background in tax, business, real estate and trust experience. He is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. His practices focuses on helping clients navigate complex tax, investment and real estate structures. John attended Stanford University majoring in Psychology and received his law degree and Masters of Laws in Taxation from the University of San Diego.
